Saudi Arabia – 4G Bands for Vehicle Tracking Devices and IoT

The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) in Saudi Arabia has updated Technical Authority Specification No. RI056 regarding a change of 4G bands for vehicle tracking devices and IoT. The change is effective immediately.

The frequency requirement of vehicle tracking devices and IoT devices has been changed to be supported by 4G network on the following frequencies, as a minimum:

  • B3 (1800 MHz)
  • B8 (900 MHz)
  • B20 (800 MHz)
  • B28 (700 MHz)

Testing should be done to ensure compliance with the following specifications:

EN 301 908-1
EN 301 908-2
EN 301 908-6
EN 301 908-13
EN 301 489-1
EN 301 489-24

In addition, all devices must also comply with Specification GEN001, and mobile phones, tablets, smart watches, and laptops must possess a CITC e-label.
