Saudi Arabia – First Phase of SASO RoHS Takes Effect

CST IoT compliance

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) published SASO RoHS requirements in the Official Gazette on July 9, 2021. The Regulation will be implemented in a roll out phase with the first category, Small Home Electrical Appliances, taking effect today July 4, 2022. Products in this category are now required to provide the ROHS report as a part of Saudi Arabia’s approval requirements.

Products placed on the market before the implementation dates are allowed a grace period and can sell for 365 days. After that time period, they must comply with the Regulation or they will be recalled. It is important to note that as a part of SASO certification, the validity period is one year.
