The Communications and Information Technology Commission of Saudi (CITC) has issued technical specifications for cellular devices. The specifications are already in force.
Important Requirements:
- Mobile phones and tablets must contain CITC E-label for importation into Saudi.
- Cellular devices must comply with CITC broadcast alert procedure in disaster and emergency situation.
- Mobile phones, tablets, routers and modems must have at least 4G function for equipment approval and customs clearance.
- If WWAN/Cellular device has no 4G function, it cannot be imported and sold in Saudi Arabia.
