On October 12, 2020, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) published IMDA TS RG-SEC, the Security Requirements for Residential Gateways used in Singapore. The technical specifications came into force for all new models on April 13, 2021, for existing RG models that were registered before October 12, 2020, a one-year grace period was given to comply with the Technical Specification, by October 12, 2021.
Due to many industry requests, IMDA has announced an extension to the deadline for compliance with the technical specification for existing RG models to May 1, 2022.
