The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is migrating its Equipment Registration modules to a new licensing portal, temporarily impacting registration applications and renewals. Manufacturers should be aware of potential delays during the transition and plan accordingly to ensure compliance.
Key Migration Dates and Impacts
The transition involves a temporary downtime and several important deadlines:
- Portal Downtime
The current GoBusiness Portal will be unavailable for equipment registration applications and renewals from 25 November 2024 to 6 December 2024.If you have any pending applications, ensure they are submitted online before 25 November 2024 to avoid delays. - Renewal Deadlines for Expiring Registrations
- For equipment registrations expiring on 30 November 2024, renewal applications must be submitted via the existing GoBusiness Portal before 25 November 2024. Unrenewed registrations will be automatically cancelled.
- For registrations expiring on 31 December 2024, renewal applications can only be submitted through the new GoBusiness Portal starting 6 December 2024. Registrations not renewed by 31 December 2024 will also be automatically cancelled.
For those not intending to apply for or renew equipment registrations during these periods, no action is necessary.
