On July 1, 2022, the Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the Telecommunications Standards Advisory Committee (TSAC) issued IMDA TS CD-SEC, titled “Security Requirements to Guard against Network Storms for Cellular devices”. The new Standards enter into force on January 2, 2023.
The new Specification defines the minimum technical security requirements for the design and management of cellular devices to better safeguard communication networks from security threats in the area of connection efficiency.
Security Requirements have been defined for the following:
- Guard against Network Storms
- Controlled Access
- Secure over-the-air (OTA) update
