The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) ILAC EMC CoC certification process will be officially implemented from November 1, 2022.
General Notice 751 was published in the South African Government Gazette on January 3, 2022, which mentioned SABS would accept Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) regarding Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) applications with International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation (ILAC) test reports, contrary to the current process, which only accepts test reports issued by the A-Lab program.
The SABS UIN number is still needed on the ILAC test report. SABS EMC CoC’s lead time for using the ILAC test report will be longer than the test report issued under the A-Lab program.
