South Africa: Radio Frequency Spectrum Assignment Plan

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has published its Rules for Services operating in the following frequency bands:

– 138 MHz to 143.6 MHz/

– 150.5 MHz to 153 MHz/

– 380 MHz to 400 MHz, and

– 2285 MHz to 2300 MHz

The new RFSAP provides information on the requirements attached to using the above mentioned frequency bands.  The plan assigns specific band use for SF alarms, remote controls, digital systems used for PPDR &PMR, broadband fixed wireless, as well as other applications .

Existing licenses must conform to the new requirements and may be subject to revocation.
