January 9, 2019, the Thai Ministry of Industry published a new industrial standard TIS 2789-2560. The new standard details safety requirements for portable power banks. The standard specifies safety requirements, testing, marking, and required warnings and instructions for portable power banks. It also applies to any portable energy-storage devices that contain secondary batteries.
Please note, the standard states that power portable power banks that include cells and batteries must also comply with the requirements in TIS 2217 and TIS 1561.
