As of December 20, 2020 all ITE products to be placed on to the UAE market shall have completed an IEC 62368-1:2014 or 2018 version evaluation. The Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology has issued an update for the implementation rules with a transition from the 2nd edition (IEC 62368-1:2014) to the 3rd edition (IEC 62368-1:2018).

- All products defined within the document shall comply with the IEC 62368-1 standard (2nd or 3rd Edition) and have a valid Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued under ECAS/EQM.
- All ECAS/EQM Certificates of Conformity (CoCs) issued under the IEC 60065 and/or IEC 60950-1 will be considered invalid/void.

- All Products defined within the document shall comply with the IEC 62368-1 standard (3rd Edition) and have a valid Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued under ECAS/EQM.
Scope of Equipment:
All audio/video and IT/office equipment categorized as Low Voltage Equipment (LVE) designed to be purchased and used by end-users or consumers for daily and non-commercial/non-professional purposes. It includes all products supplied through both B2B and B2C commercial transactions.
Definition of Low Voltage Equipment (LVE) means electrical/electronic equipment designed for use with a voltage rating of between 50 and 1000V for alternating current and between 75 and 1500V for direct current.
Please note that from December 20, 2021, only IEC 62368-1:2018 is acceptable.
