As a reminder, The Emirates Authority for Standardization & Metrology has issued an update for the implementation rules with a transition from the 2nd edition (IEC 62368-1:2014) to the 3rd edition (IEC 62368-1:2018). As of December 20, 2021, all ITE products to be placed on to the UAE market shall have completed an IEC 62368-1 standard (3rd Edition) and have a valid Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued under ECAS/EQM.
Scope of Equipment:
All audio/video and IT/office equipment categorized as Low Voltage Equipment (LVE) designed to be purchased and used by end-users or consumers for daily and non-commercial/non-professional purposes. It includes all products supplied through both B2B and B2C commercial transactions.
Definition of Low Voltage Equipment (LVE) means electrical/electronic equipment designed for use with a voltage rating of between 50 and 1000V for alternating current and between 75 and 1500V for direct current.
