On June 20, 2022, the UK Government announced an update to the UKCA marking requirements.
For goods placed on the market from January 1, 2023, the government plans to introduce legislation so that the UKCA marking can be added on a label affixed to the product or on a document accompanying the product until December 31, 2025. This will apply for most goods requiring UKCA marking.
Theses rules do not apply for:
- medical devices
- construction products
- cableways
- unmanned aircraft systems
- marine equipment
- transportable pressure equipment
- rail products
The UK Conformity Assessed (UKCA) mark indicates conformity to Great Britain regulations and applies to most goods previously subject to the CE marking. The UKCA mark came into effect on January 1, 2021. However, to allow businesses time to adjust to the new requirements, the CE marking can still be used until January 1, 2023 in most cases.
