Today, August 24, 2021, the UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), has announced manufacturers can continue to use the CE marking for goods placed on the market in Great Britain until January 1, 2023. Although this will allow more time to prepare for the UKCA regulatory implementation, the BEIS encourages businesses to start using the UKCA marking as soon as possible.
The updated announcement states “CE marked goods in scope of this guidance that meet EU requirements (where these match UK requirements) can continue to be placed on the GB market until 1 January 2023 where EU and UK requirements remain the same. This includes goods which have been assessed by an EU recognised notified body”.
