The Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) published a Draft Circular on new RoHS requirements titled “National technical regulation on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment”.
The main differences from the existing Vietnamese RoHS regulation (Circular 30/2011/TT-BCT) include:
- four new phthalates would be added to the restricted substances
- new product categories would be added
- the submission of a declaration of conformity to the authority would be required
- the display of a conformity logo would be required
The draft circular is planned to take effect January 1, 2025.
