Vietnam – New VNTA Regulations in Effect Soon

As a reminder, new VNTA Regulations will take effect starting July 2022. In October, the Vietnam Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) released 3 new National Standards.

Summary of Standards :

QCVN 65:2021/BTTTT: Radio Access Equipment Operating in the 5GHz Band

  • Shall take effect from May 1, 2022 and enforced (replace QCVN 65:2013/BTTTT) from July 1, 2023. Companies and manufacturers can apply for QCVN 65:2021 on a voluntary basis from May 1, 2022 to July 1, 2023
  • Transmit power limit will depend on whether or not the product has “transmit power control” (TPC) function
  • Based on EN 301 893 V2.1.1 (2017-05)

QCVN 123:2021/BTTT: Short Range Device (SRD) – Radio Equipment to be Used in the 40 GHz – 246 GHz Frequency Range

  • Shall take effect from July 01, 2022
  • Based on EN 305 550-1 V1.2.1 (2014-10) for test method and EN 305 550-2 V1.2.1 (2014-10) for limits

QCVN 124:2021/BTTTT: Radar Equipment Operating in the Frequency Range 76 GHz – 77 GHz for Ground-Based Vehicle

  • Shall take effect from July 01, 2022
  • Based on EN 303 396 V1.1.1 (2016-12) for test method and EN 301 091-1 V2.1.1 (2017-01) for limits
