Vietnam – Reminder: New MIC Regulations Now in Effect

As we mentioned in our March Blog, new MIC regulations are now in effect. As of July 1, 2019, these new standards must be met to issue a Declaration of Conformity by VNTA. There are already reports of Type Approval certificates granted for LTE devices that met the old standard QCVN 47:2015/BTTTT that have become invalid.

Importers and manufacturers must comply with QCVN 117:2018/BTTTT testing to prevent delays in importing and distribution.

For ITE and MME devices, including desktop PC, notebook / laptop PC, tablet PC, server, router and gateways, the new technical standard required is QCVN 118:2018/BTTTT. Manufacturers need to submit EMC reports according to CISPR 32:2015 or new Vietnamese standard QCVN 118:2018/BTTTT issued by local test laboratories or oversea test laboratories which are recognized by MIC Vietnam for QCVN 118:2018/BTTTT under MRA.
